The 麻豆影院 State Center for Public Policy and Health Now Offers Biostatistics and Research Design

New offering is added to longstanding program evaluation, needs assessment and improvement planning efforts.

Leveraging decades of academic and field expertise, the CPPH delivers high-quality services tailored to meet the complex needs of its clients. Technical assistance service offerings focus on three key domains: program evaluation, biostatistics and research design, and needs assessment and improvement planning

The 麻豆影院 State Center for Public Policy and Health (CPPH) is a trusted provider of specialized technical services and has completed evaluations and assisted in quality improvement efforts for many organizations including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board.

Program evaluation services include evaluation design, implementation, data collection and management, statistical analysis, Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) and National Outcome Measures (NOMS) interview training and technical assistance, SAMHSA鈥檚 Performance Accountability and Reporting System (SPARS) technical assistance for grant reporting, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant evaluation.

Since 2015, the Center has been working with SAMHSA-funded grant projects and employs staff who are familiar with the GPRA and NOMS interview tools, the SPARS system, and other reporting requirements.

鈥淩esearch is a core value of the CPPH, which is why the Center offers distinct experience in biostatistical analysis and research design,鈥 said Center Director Deric Kenne, Ph.D. 鈥淯niversity faculty, staff, and students can access Center resources at a discounted rate.鈥

According to Kenne, services are relevant to all phases of the research process and include experimental design, sample size and power calculations, survey development, programming, and data analysis, qualitative research development and analysis, missing data evaluation and management, and more. Examples of analyses provided include t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square, correlation, linear and logistic regression, survival analysis, longitudinal analysis, and principal component analysis.

In addition to these services, the CPPH has extensive experience in conducting community health assessments to guide the development of Community Health Improvement Plans (CHIP). The CPPH team, which includes former health commissioners, brings significant expertise to these projects. Services in this area include Community Health Assessment (CHA), CHIP development, and technical assistance in data management and statistical analysis.

鈥淲e sought out 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 CPPH to assist with our Community Health Assessment (CHA) because of their reputation for quality work. Members of the CPPH team were very familiar with PHAB (Public Health Accreditation Board) requirements and they led us through a successful CHA. In fact, we are now beginning the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) with the Center,鈥 said Dennis R. Propes, REHS, MPA, Health Commissioner.

In addition, according to Kenne, working with the CPPH, graduate students gain invaluable hands-on experience and receive mentorship from our staff members, bridging the gap between academic learning and career advancement.
