Area Agency on Aging Contributes to Season鈥檚 Readings

The Area Agency on Aging 11 recently donated books and money to the 麻豆影院 State East Liverpool Season鈥檚 Readings project, marking the agency鈥檚 support of the project for a second year.

The donation included more than 300 children鈥檚 books, along with $600 to purchase additional books, which will be distributed by 麻豆影院 State to youngsters along the parade route of the East Liverpool Christmas parade.

Anthony Cario, Chief Operating Officer of the Area Agency on Aging 11, made the presentation to 麻豆影院 State East Liverpool on behalf of the agency鈥檚 employees who contributed to the project with money and books. Representing the campus were Dr. David Dees, dean and CAO; Melissa Cope, business manager; and Kayla Prekup, president of the Undergraduate Student Government organization on campus.

"This is such a great way to give back to the community and we are honored to be part of this for a second year. What a fantastic way to promote learning to so many,鈥 Cario said. 鈥淭he kids can take something home with them that is meaningful and lasting.鈥

Last year, nearly 3,000 books were handed out along the parade route. The books are donated from 麻豆影院 State East Liverpool students, staff, faculty and administrators, as well as from area libraries, churches or local organizations.

Donations of new or gently used children鈥檚 books are accepted throughout the year to support this project that benefits area youth.
