American Legion Post 496 Hero’s Ruck

Registration Fee $35
Veterans and non-veterans alike are encouraged to participate in the American Legion Post 496 Heroʼs Ruck fundraising event. All proceeds generated help provide companion animals from the Portage Animal Protective League (APL) free of charge to veterans or first responders.
PARTA Veterans Day Ceremony

For more than two decades the Portage Area Region Transportation Authority (PARTA) has hosted a commemorative event on Veterans Day to honor and celebrate veterans for the sacrifices they have made.
This year PARTA recognizes Post 496 of the American Legion for their efforts to alleviate PTSD in veterans with their pets for vets initiative.

The 2024 Veteran Career Expo will feature 30 local and regional organizations looking to hire for internships, full-time, and part-time positions.
All KSU students are welcome, however, student veterans have priority from 11 a.m. - noon. Veteran partner resource agencies will also be available.
